Celebrity Style: Demi Moore

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher recently celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary in New York. Although the couple was in the city to promote their charity, all eyes were on Demi’s glasses.

Moore has been spotting wearing the thick black-rimmed glasses on multiple occasions, with outfits ranging from everyday wear to glamorous evening gowns.

Thick-rimmed glasses are no longer solely for librarians and nerds anymore, but as Demi Moore shows, can be worn with virtually anything in your closet.

To get the look try The Red Bluff reading glasses. The retro design is available in black and tortoise with power ranging from +1.00 – +3.00.

It’s Back! The 50’s Cat-Eye!

Remember those times you giggled at how your grandmother dressed when she was in high school? Her rebuttal was that fashion repeats itself, so you better not laugh too hard—you’ll wear it one day too. Katy Perry cat-eye glasses

Well, she was right… The 50’s are back. They’re all over the runways, and celebs can’t stop wearing the styles either, just look at Katy Perry pictured right.

And we’re jumping on the bandwagon too. Meet Jenna, a sleek and classic cat-eye. Complete with rhinestone studs on her outer edges, the Jenna will send you right back to the sockhoppin’ days.

These fun glasses are available in black frame-fronts and three different inner frame colors: red, yellow and white. My favorite color would have to be the black and red—not only is it trendy, but classic!

The Jenna is hot of the runway and going fast, so make sure you grab your pair right away!

Let’s Welcome the Jade Bi-Focal Sun Reader

It’s a bird… It’s a plane… It’s the Jade Bi-Focal Sun Reader! Ok, so these sunglasses may not have the same effect that Spiderman had on Mary Jane, but it’s a pretty close call. How close, you  ask? Well, let me count the ways.

  1. Spiderman protected the innocent citizens of Manhattan. The Jade protects your eyes everywhere — no matter if you’re on the beach, soaking up the blistering sun’s rays in San Trope, or driving through the countryside in Columbus, Ohio. UV400 protected, this pair of sunglasses is armed and ready to protect your eyesight. The Jade does the job everywhere — and well.
  2. Spiderman looked good while protecting citizens. So does the Jade. The Jade may not have the red and blue, spandex costume, or the defined ab muscles of Spiderman, but that doesn’t mean this pair of sunglasses doesn’t look good while doing their job! The Jade comes in six different colors, all perfect for the fall!
  3. Spiderman was magnified in the spotlight. The Jade magnifies. Although the paparazzi may not feature you daily on the front page of The Times, the Jade features a small magnification in the bottom part of the lenses, allowing you to read in the sun!
  4. Spiderman was a celeb. The Jade will make you feel famous and powerful. Now, I’m not suggesting you go around using your “spidey sense” to shoot cobwebs out of your forearms and swing from building to building along the New York skyline; though the Jade will make you feel powerful, no need to follow through with the superhero sense. Just a precaution.

All in all, these are the the must-have accessory of the fall. Sunglasses have the magical ability to jazz up any outfit, which makes them the perfect addition to your wardrobe any season. Yes, I know, Spiderman did not wear sunglasses, but he was also bit by a radioactive spider…

Protecting Your Eyes While Tanning: Now that summer is on its way out, you might be considering visiting the tanning bed to retain your sunny glow. Of course, with the risk of skin cancer, that isn’t the greatest idea, but if you do decide to embrace the sunbed lamps anyway, make sure you wear goggles. Simply closing your eyes isn’t enough to avoid eye growths and vision damage. Be careful!
